Near-infrared reflection heat insulation technology
Reflective heat-insulating coatings, also known as inorganic cooling coatings, mainly function in reflecting sunlight. Sunlight (electromagnetic radiation) that reaches the earth contains light waves with wavelengths ranging from 250 to 2500 nanometers. The region from 700 to 2500 nanometers is the near-infrared region, which contains 51% of the sun's energy. Therefore, the reflectivity in this band determines the heat insulation effect of the coating. (The following figure shows the energy distribution of sunlight reaching the earth.)

According to comparative tests conducted by Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the US at Baggett School (using ordinary coatings) and Poole School (using inorganic cooling coatings), under consistent conditions, the latter can save approximately $15,000 annually on electricity and natural gas.

It is estimated that if inorganic cooling coatings were promoted in nearly 80,000 schools across three southeastern states in the US, and 10% of schools adopted them, the energy savings alone would exceed 15 billion yuan after 35 years. In the US, inorganic cooling coatings have been included in the national Energy Star incentive program and are being vigorously promoted.
However, in China, the use of inorganic cooling coatings is still very limited, but this also presents a significant market opportunity for this type of coating in China.
